Peace of Heart Campaign
A coalition of minority groups, physicians, community health advocates and health care companies launched PEACE of Heart, a campaign to help fight heart-related disease in minority, low-income communities through education, preventive screening and hands-on support.

 

Centers of Excellence
United Health Foundation supports health care Centers of Excellence in four of America’s most economically challenged neighborhoods.

 

California Health Commitment
UnitedHealth Group and PacifiCare have committed $25 million over three years to improve health care delivery, quality and accessibility in California.

  • Jan. 27, 2009 - UnitedHealth Group awarded more than $6.1 million in grants to 13 California nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving health care services through enhanced health care technology opportunities, supporting clinical education and driving preventive health initiatives.
  • June 16, 2008 - UnitedHealth Group awarded more than $6.2 million in grants to 12 California nonprofits.
  • Jan. 17, 2008 - UnitedHealth Group awarded more than $6 million in grants to 15 California nonprofits.

 

United Minnesota Community Initiative
In 2007, UnitedHealth Group launched a 10-year, $100 million initiative to advance health, education and social well-being in its home state of Minnesota.

 

University Medical Center Grant
UnitedHealth Group and its Sierra Health Services business unit awarded a $7,175,000 grant to University Medical Center as part of the companies' ongoing commitment to enhance health care delivery in Nevada.

 

UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation Grants
UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation announced that new grants are available for families struggling with a child’s health-related expenses. 

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation of America
UnitedHealth Group formed a three-year, $4.5 million alliance with the Make-a-Wish Foundation®. The Foundation’s local chapters use grant funds to fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation: Brianna
10-year-old Brianna suffers from a complex seizure disorder. Thanks to a partnership between UnitedHealthcare and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, she was granted her wish of an ocean adventure. She set sail on the Disney Wonder for various ports of call. Read her story.

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation: Alyssa
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, UnitedHealth Group and its employees enabled Alyssa to realize her dream of going to Disneyworld. The 7 year old, diagnosed with a brain tumor, underwent surgery and now is "almost like herself," according to her mother. Read her story.

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation: Amber
Through the efforts of Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Rhode Island and a corporate sponsorship from UnitedHealthcare, 10 year old Amber from Coventry, RI had her wish granted! Amber, who has battled a brain tumor, traveled to Walt Disney World® Resort, where she, her parents and older sister spent a week of fun in the sun.

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation: Fernley
Eight-year-old Elijah, who has been diagnosed with fibrous dysplasia, had breakfast with Mickey Mouse, dined with Barney and spent a day with killer whales and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins during a seven-day trip to Orlando, Florida’s most popular adventure parks thanks to Make-a-Wish Foundation and UnitedHealthcare.

 

Make-a-Wish Foundation: Isaac
Seven-year-old Isaac from Denver has been diagnosed with liver disease. Thanks to Make-a-Wish Foundation and UnitedHealthcare, he recently fulfilled his biggest tream: traveling to Orlando to visit Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios .

 

Midwestern Flood Relief Efforts 
UnitedHealth Group donated $100,000 in response to the floods that have affected several Midwestern states. Other immediate actions were taken to assist impacted health plan members regarding prescription refills, grace periods for premium payments, and accommodations.

 

UNLV School of Nursing Grant
UnitedHealth Group and Sierra Health Services awarded a $500,000 grant to the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Nursing. The grant, payable at $100,000 for five years, will be used to fund two graduate fellowships in the Master of Nursing (MSN) program and two graduate fellowships in the Doctor of Nursing (Ph.D.) program.

 

ASU College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation
UnitedHealthcare presented a $700,000 Grant to ASU College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation to expand health care services for underserved Arizonans.

 

Volunteers of America – Everett Food Bank
Our $10,000 donation provides food to Snohomish County’s hungry as well as counseling and education programs that foster independence, self-sufficiency and positive development.

 

Pike-San Isabel National Forest
UnitedHealthcare donated $10,000 to plant 10,000 trees in the Pike-San Isabel National Forest. And, to help save trees, we encourage customers to use email for business-related communications and health care benefits updates.
