Disabilities impact individuals' health, finances, social dynamics and sense of security. And they can impact you as an employer by disrupting work flow and impacting health care costs.

Disabilities are expensive and something today's employers want to carefully manage. In fact, just 10% of disability claims account for more than 50% of total medical and disability costs.2

The Integrated Medical and Disability Management (IMDM) program is designed to help.

Who qualifies?

Fully insured customer with at least two employees who have UnitedHealthcare disability and medical plan have access to this program at no additional cost.3

How does IMDM work?

IMDM provides one-to-one outreach to members experiencing a disability to ensure they have the support, information and resources they need to recover. Because our nurse case managers are able to reference a member's medical claims, a more holistic and comprehensive approach to care is possible.

This program conveniently and effectively integrates medical, disability and behavioral case management under one roof.

What's the result?

IMDM participants experience a 13% reduction in claims duration on average.4
