ARTICLE Kickoff to Good Health

Routine exams are an important part of living a healthier life.

In July, Community & State members, including covered families and children as well as aged, blind or disabled Medicaid populations in Ohio, will participate in a program called Kickoff to Good Health, that will reward new members for getting the checkups they need.

Members will be offered a chance to earn up to $100 in benefit credits, which can be used to order personal health care products from the Kickoff to Good Health catalog. Sample products include allergy or cold medicines, child safety items, personal care and even exercise equipment.

Benefit credits can be earned by each family member enrolled in the health plan.

First, the member must visit their primary care provider within 90 days of enrollment. This earns the member a $50 benefit credit. After the checkup with the primary care physician is completed, members can earn additional $25 credits for scheduling dental and eye exams within the first six months of enrollment.

Once members begin earning benefit credits, UnitedHealthcare will mail a letter showing how many credits are available, as well as the catalog.

There are no out-of-pocket costs when using benefit credits, no charges for shipping and handling or taxes and orders can be placed by phone or mail.

The Kickoff to Good Health program rewards members for taking steps to get and stay healthy, which can help build a better health system for all.
