COLUMBIA, S.C. (Sept. 27, 2011) Ride 2 Recovery and UnitedHealthcare have announced the Columbia CycleFest, a one-day cycling event at Lake Watree to support injured veterans' rehabilitation.
More than 100 cyclists, including injured veterans riding hand cycles, recumbents and traditional street bikes, are expected to participate in the Oct. 1 ride that is also open to the public. Participants will have the option to ride 20, 57 or 65 miles around Lake Watree.

Bikes are often custom-fitted to each rider's physical needs. UnitedHealthcare is the 2011 presenting sponsor of Ride 2 Recovery's cycling challenges across the United States and in France.
"The Ride 2 Recovery Cyclefest helps support important health programs for men and women who served our country, so we are honored to serve them through this sponsorship," said Garland Scott, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual of The Carolinas.
