ARTICLE March of Dimes Names UnitedHealthcare of Arizona's Senior Medical Director Volunteer of the Year

PHOENIX (Jan. 20, 2011) – Robert Beauchamp, M.D., UnitedHealthcare of Arizona's senior medical director, has received the 2010 Arizona Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award from the March of Dimes.

Dr. Beauchamp, a practicing pediatrician, began volunteering for the March of Dimes in 1983 after seeing first-hand the devastation of birth defects and preterm births on babies and families. He began by volunteering as a member of the program services committee, and now serves on the Arizona chapter's board of directors, where he has held several positions including chairman, program services chair, executive committee member, and nominating and volunteer development chair.

"Dr. Beauchamp is always 'on call' for March of Dimes' needs. He is an active, productive volunteer and a tireless health care advocate for families, working independently and productively on the priorities of the March of Dimes," said Janice Decker, director of March of Dimes Arizona chapter.

"Dr. Beauchamp's Volunteer of the Year award reflects his dedication and commitment to helping enhance Arizonans' health and quality of life." said Benton Davis, CEO-Western States, UnitedHealthcare.

The award recognizes volunteers in each of the organization's 52 state chapters across the country, including Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
