UnitedHealthcare and Carbon Health join forces to expand access to smart, primary and urgent care

In alliance with Carbon Health, UnitedHealthcare offers in-person and virtual access for employees and their families

As a part of our California Choice Plus network, UnitedHealthcare — in alliance with Carbon Health, an innovative urgent and primary care provider —offers in-person and virtual access for easier, everyday care. Using the Carbon Health app, employees and their families can book same-day appointments, receive prescriptions at their doorstep and chat with a health care team member whenever necessary.

With the addition of Carbon Health’s providers and locations, members now have:

  • Expanded access to more than 125 physical locations in 14 states (including 76 in California)
  • Widespread virtual care coverage
  • Shown an average NPS® of 851

Through its tech-enabled platform, Connective Care, Carbon Health is raising the standard of care for more than 1 million patients across the U.S. by providing the omnichannel care that patients need today. The company’s innovative model unlocks access to quality continuity of care from the same trusted providers at a wide variety of access points —physical locations, pop-up sites, telehealth, the Carbon Health app — optimizing health care delivery.

Steve Cain, CEO of UnitedHealthcare California recounts his own experience:

“I went into a Carbon Health clinic because I had a few things that needed to get checked out. Inside the clinic, it was one-stop shopping. I was able to get my lab and x-ray done right there on-site. All of that was super connected and easy. The follow-up was robust, and it was done digitally. It all felt right.”

Where typical primary care is anchored in a visit, Carbon Health blends easy-to-use software and expert care so every patient can establish a relationship with their own integrated team of care providers, monitor and manage their health on the go and access in-person care when and where they want to.

UnitedHealthcare is excited to offer members another alternative through Carbon Health. Learn more about Carbon Health or visit carbonhealth.com.
