UnitedHealthcare of Georgia CEO takes on new role in New York
Junior Harewood, UnitedHealthcare of Georgia and Alabama CEO, pens a personal letter marking his transition to CEO of UnitedHealthcare of New York.
Throughout my 25-year career at UnitedHealthcare, I’ve had the opportunity to work with an incredible group of people focused on the healthcare experience, advancing health equity and delivering access to high-quality care. During this time, new faces, new technology and new methods of doing business have improved my work experience and opened amazing opportunities.
I am pleased to announce my transition to the role of CEO, UnitedHealthcare of New York, Employer & Individual Plans. As many of you may know, I am a native New Yorker, and it is where I started my career in the healthcare industry – with UnitedHealthcare – from 1995 through 2012 before moving to the southeast.
Whether it’s the Atlanta Food Bank, Families First, Healthy Mothers Health Babies, United Way or any number of other local organizations I’ve had the pleasure of working with, the memories and relationships I’ve made in Georgia and Alabama over the past 10 years will last a lifetime.
As a native Long Islander, I am excited to return to my home state with my wife of 18 years and two-year-old daughter. But no matter what state I am in, I am focused on helping people live healthier lives and to make the healthcare system work better for everyone. I look forward to remaining in my position as CEO in Georgia and Alabama until my successor is named.
You are in amazing hands with the team currently in place to keep the momentum going. If you have any questions or concerns about this transition or your business with UnitedHealthcare, please reach out to your UnitedHealthcare representative.
With my sincerest gratitude,
Junior Harewood
