JAKE: You know, it's a very nerve wracking experience, especially as a first time parent. And all the help that you can get is important.

MACKENZY: I found out about Maven through a flyer in the mail.

During our initial appointment with our care advocate, she set up those initial appointments for us. Here's a PT, here's a nutritionist, here's a doula. You know, here's all of the resources that you have available.

I just went on my app and you can search the care that you're looking for. Most of the time there were appointments like that day or even that same hour.

During our initial appointment, that very first appointment with our Maven care advocate, she told us that all of our Maven benefits were available through our health plan with UnitedHealthCare.

JAKE: We'd had UnitedHealthCare through my employer for about three years.

I like the company that I work for, and the benefits that they offer us is a big part of that.

MACKENZY: You can't plan what's going to happen, but just having some extra support to just be as prepared as you possibly can be, it took a load off my shoulders.

JAKE: Especially being first time parents, I think it was very helpful to us. It put me at ease just knowing that we had that ability to just reach out to somebody very quickly. It was very flexible.

Anytime employees start thinking about growing their families, they’re likely filled with excitement and a mix of questions. That was the experience for Jake and Mackenzy. It helped Mackenzy and Jake feel prepared and supported as they welcomed their son, Donovan, into the world.
