Coming soon: New customizable plan options for Level Funded 51+ groups

Coming soon: customizable level funded 51+ plans with expanded benefit buy-ups, pricing, and enhanced renewal transparency.

More choice. More control. More transparency.

That’s what’s coming to Level Funded 51+ plans — and expanding even further for 100+ groups — as we roll out a broader, more customizable benefit and pricing experience, designed directly from broker and plan sponsor feedback.

What’s already available for 100+ groups

Groups with 100+ lives already have access to core plan design modifications, including:

  • Medical plan design options
    • Deductibles
    • Copays
    • Coinsurance
    • Pharmacy customization

These capabilities remain unchanged and continue to support tailored plan strategies for larger plan sponsors. For Jan. 1, 2027, these features will be available for 51–99 groups.

What’s new for 51+ and 100+ groups

We’re now expanding modified plan design options by including:

  • Expanded pharmacy copayment structures
  • Adjustable surplus share percentages
  • Rate component variability
  • Ability to customize visit limits

Expanded benefit buy-ups to meet evolving needs

In addition to core plan modifications, new optional benefit buy-ups1 will be available to both 51–99 and 100+ groups,2 including:

  • Infertility coverage3
  • Obesity – Weight loss surgery without weight loss drug coverage
  • Obesity – Weight loss surgery with weight-loss drug coverage
  • UHC Rewards4 buy up to Premium Rewards5

Note: UHC Rewards embedded program will remain the same for groups below 51+ lives as it is included today.

These buy-ups allow plan sponsors to respond to emerging priorities while keeping benefits competitive.

Key dates to know

To help brokers and plan sponsors plan ahead, the rollout will follow a phased approach:

  • 100+ groups
    • Quote-ready: July 1, 2026, for Jan. 1, 2027, case effective dates
  • 51–99 groups
    • Quote-ready: Sept. 1, 2026, for Jan. 1, 2027, case effective dates

This timeline ensures ample runway to explore plan options, model costs, and prepare for implementation.

Renewals reimagined with transparency built in

Responding directly to feedback requesting greater visibility into how rates are developed, October 2026 renewals will introduce:

  • Expanded renewal exhibits to clearly show how and why renewal increases were developed, strengthening broker renewal discussions and competitiveness
  • Automated rate development
  • Clearer insight into the drivers behind renewal pricing, highlighting claims experience, large claimants and key drivers of change

This enhancement delivers a more transparent, consistent renewal experience — helping plan sponsors better understand their costs.

This upcoming Level Funded 51+ benefit modification expansion represents more than new options — it’s a meaningful shift toward customization, clarity and confidence.
