Making it easier for brokers to work with UnitedHealthcare

Explore 5 ways we are making the process of working with us simpler and more streamlined.

As a broker, you're constantly juggling the demands of multiple clients and navigating the unique tools and processes of various carriers and vendors.

UnitedHealthcare recognizes the challenges this presents and is committed to making your job easier, which is why we’ve enhanced the process of working with us – focusing on flexibility, simplification, automation and targeted improvements.

1. Improved tracking and transparency around compensation

Trust is key to any good relationship. Having clear visibility into earnings can help build trust, ensure fairness and enable you to make informed decisions that benefit both your business and your clients. That’s why UnitedHealthcare is providing more timely bonus payouts and working to improve the transparency and tracking of broker bonuses to ensure you have a clear understanding of your earnings and feel confident that you are getting appropriately compensated.

2. Centralized broker reporting

We know that you’re busy, so UnitedHealthcare is working to streamline the number of sources and platforms you have to navigate to get a job done. That includes centralizing the broker reporting process so that you have a single, personalized view of your clients with access to detailed reports and analytics. With your oversight and oversight from UnitedHealthcare, AI is also enabling the automation of common tasks like data entry and report generation for even greater efficiencies.

3. Streamlined benefit management

Beyond reporting, UnitedHealthcare recognizes it has an opportunity to streamline the enrollment and benefits management process for brokers. For example, available now for most fully insured groups, brokers and clients are able to upload enrollment forms directly to UHCeServices, and the tool will automatically import the data — saving considerable time and effort and reducing the chance of errors that may result from manually typing in a member’s enrollment form. And for brokers working across various vendors and tools, UnitedHealthcare Benefit Ecosystem™ simplifies the process of setting up UnitedHealthcare policies, generating quotes, enrolling members and renewing plans on connected benefits administration platforms using available Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This also helps to provide your clients with real-time access to data and reduces the likelihood of setup errors and member issues.

4. On-demand tools and support

When you’re on the road meeting with clients, accessing critical information and staying on top of tasks and client needs can be difficult. With the UHC Partner Portal mobile app, managing your book of business, accessing resources, completing everyday tasks such as member maintenance, sending ID cards, viewing commissions or employer bills, and communicating with UnitedHealthcare while on-the-go is now possible.

5. Consistent communications

In an industry as complex as health care, staying up-to-date on the latest regulatory news and knowledgeable about each carrier is a big feat. That’s why UnitedHealthcare is committed to providing you with regular touchpoints and communications to help ensure you’re showing up as a strategic and well-informed advisor with your clients. This may include in-person or virtual meetings and events, webinars, biweekly email newsletters and other ad hoc communications. UnitedHealthcare also makes information that may be relevant to brokers who sell employer-sponsored plans available on our broker-consultant website and newsfeed or on LinkedIn.

“Our goal is to make UnitedHealthcare the easiest carrier to do business with, and, with all the technology available to us, we have a path to make this happen.”
