Benefit updates
With a continued focus on health and well-being, the updated portfolio strives to ensure members have access to the care they need in the most cost-effective way for both members and customers. The latest 2021 benefit updates coming Sept. 1, 2021, include:
- Specialty Medication Cost Share program added to all plans
- A $750 inpatient copay for $0 deductible traditional PPO and EPO plans
- Added 60 and 70% coinsurance plans for traditional PPO and EPO plans; 60% coinsurance option for PROformance plans

Note: The level funded portfolio will continue to provide Flex Focus, Primary Focus, Direct, Advanced, Premier PROformance and PROformance plan categories in select markets. Oxford Level Funded plans utilize the Liberty and Freedom network in Connecticut and New Jersey, which reflects in the plan codes available to Oxford Level Funded groups. The Metro network will also be available to New Jersey groups only.
PDL updates
The 2021 level funded portfolio will continue to provide groups flexibility with their pharmacy benefits by offering the Advantage Prescription Drug List (PDL) or the Essential PDL to pair with their medical plans (where the Essential PDL is available). The Essential PDL is offered on the Standard Select Narrow Network and paired with a state-specific anchor pharmacy.
New for 2021 updates, the Advantage PDL will begin to be offered on the Standard Select Network and be paired with a state-specific anchor pharmacy. Additionally, the Specialty Medication Cost Share (SMCS) program has been added to all plans. The SMCS program is a benefit designed to help control costs by structuring employee cost-share according to the true cost of the medication. It encourages employees to work with their physicians to find the lowest-cost and clinically appropriate specialty medication under their benefit.
