Bundling specialty plans with medical benefits offers savings and simplicity
An attractive benefits program helps businesses recruit and retain talent. In fact during open enrollment,1 85 percent of Americans who work full-time said having vision and dental benefit options is important. uBundle™ helps companies with between 51 and 2,999 employees save on the cost of their UnitedHealthcare medical premiums.2 When specialty benefits such as dental, vision, life, disability or supplemental health coverages are purchased with medical benefits, it results in cost savings that can accumulate to up to 4 percent if all qualifying plans are offered.3 Savings for coverage on just one of the benefits can range from .25 percent to 2 percent, depending on what is selected. Fully insured smaller employers, with 2-50 employees, may qualify for medical plan savings with Packaged Savings®. Credits are earned based on the number of enrolled medical employees and the number of eligible specialty plans offered. The more plans they bundle, the more they save. In October 2018, UnitedHealthcare began sending information to small business clients about Packaged Savings and encouraged them to contact their broker.5
Both uBundle and Packaged Savings help simplify the administration of multiple plans into one bundled package of benefits.The same dedicated account team consults and supports across all the bundled benefits, plus there is a single eligibility and enrollment process and one bill.
