J.D. Power – a consumer intelligence company that has provided trusted product reviews and ratings for over 50 years – recently conducted a consumer study focused on vision and dental plans, with UnitedHealthcare ranking first among all national carriers.* UnitedHealthcare’s vision plans scored 825 – the highest of the plans analyzed – and ranked No. 1 in all five categories measured (coverage, cost, communications, customer service and reimbursement). Likewise, UnitedHealthcare’s dental score of 806 was the highest among dental plans and ranked in the top spot for 4 of the 5 key categories.

This No. 1 rating reflects UnitedHealthcare’s multi-year effort to improve customer service and satisfaction, including investments in data and technology to make access to vision and dental care more convenient, affordable and evidence based. Recent enhancements include virtual dental care resources to help people receive oral care services 24/7, along with innovative benefit designs designed to provide children and adults improved access to comprehensive eye exams and prescription eyewear.

UnitedHealthcare also offers an integrated approach for employers to combine medical benefits with specialty plans, including vision and/or dental coverage. This integrated approach provides members with a more simplified experience and enables employers to help improve employee health outcomes, increase productivity and lower costs.

“UnitedHealthcare brings a local-market focus and national resources that enables us to meet the oral and eye health needs and enhance the overall well-being of the more than 23 million people enrolled in our vision plans and over 23 million individuals in our dental plans,” said Tom Wiffler, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits.
