Hospital Indemnity Protection Plans

Help protect your employees from costly hospital expenses

Many employees are not prepared for high, unexpected costs. In fact, almost two in three U.S. workers say they have less than $1,000 on hand to pay the out-of-pocket expenses of an unexpected, serious illness or emergency.2

Hospital stays are costly.
The average cost, including ambulance transportation, is about $11,000.1

Offer the Hospital Indemnity Protection Plan.

Our Hospital Indemnity Protection Plan is insurance that pays a lump-sum benefit directly to a covered employee after a hospital stay and related expenses. The amount of the benefit is based on the covered expenses and treatments covered by the employee’s plan.

Any payment the plan makes is in addition to the benefits your employees receive from their health plan. The employee can use the money to help pay their health plan deductible, prescription costs or for other expenses like their mortgage or rent payments, groceries and more.

Supplement your health plan

While a health plan is essential, it may only go so far. Plus, millions of employees are now in high-deductible health plans, making them more susceptible to high out-of-pocket costs.3   Adding the Hospital Indemnity Protection Plan gives you and your employees added relief from the financial burden and stress.

How it works: Matt’s example

Matt suffers head and shoulder injuries in an accident and is taken by ambulance to the hospital emergency room, which is some distance from his home. His wife joins him at the hospital.
