Beaumont and UnitedHealthcare introduce new health care choices
- Fully Insured and Self-Funded
- Plan Design
Southeast Michigan-area employers have the potential to save up to 15% on monthly premiums with a new health plan from UnitedHealthcare. The plan’s network consists exclusively of Beaumont Health, the state’s largest health care system.
Eligible participants have access to Beaumont’s 8 hospitals and 145 outpatient sites throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, as well as Beaumont’s network of 5,000 affiliated physicians and specialists — all without a referral.
UnitedHealthcare designed the plan to deliver a new competitive option to southeast Michigan-area employers seeking more affordable health plans. Additionally, the plan offers employees lower monthly premiums compared to other health plans.
Employers with 51 or more employees will have access to the plan beginning July 1, and businesses with 2 – 50 employees will have access starting Jan. 1, 2020. Employers can also access the plan if a majority of their employees live in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, even if their offices or facilities are located in other Michigan counties.
