Effective Jan. 1, 2015, Maryland bulletin 14-22 set forth the requirement that the Continuity of Health Care Notice be provided to all new medical, standalone dental and Individual Exchange enrollees. This notice is distributed as a part of the electronic Certificate of Coverage (eCOC) fulfillment process.
Notices will be mailed to new standalone dental subscribers in mid-November, while impacted members on dental-only plans will receive the mailed notices throughout 2019, or until an alternate distribution method is determined.
Since this is an ongoing required compliance notice, all new fully insured commercial medical members will receive the notice through the eCOC fulfillment process.
