UnitedHealthcare will make Quit For Life®, a tobacco cessation program, available to fully insured customers* at no additional cost effective June 1, 2018.

Quit For Life is a clinically-proven tobacco cessation coaching program offered in collaboration with the American Cancer Society®. The program uses an evidence-based combination of physical, psychological and behavioral strategies designed to help employees overcome their tobacco addiction.

Employees 18 years and older have access to a Quit Coach® to help make a plan, set a quit date and provide ongoing support. Beyond coaching, employees receive a Quit Guide as well as access to a mobile app, the Text2Quit® text messaging program and decision support for tobacco cessation medications. These include prescription and over-the-counter products. Employees also receive digital support, including online learning, interactive content and urge-management tools.

Since 1985, Quit For Life has helped more than 3.5 million people and has delivered impressive results:

  • 49 percent quit rate1
  • 95 percent program satisfaction2
  • 97 percent of participants would recommend the program3
