- Fully Insured
- Reform and Regulatory
- New Jersey
As required by a New Jersey (NJ) bulletin, a Disclosure to Covered Persons Regarding Out-of-Network (OON) Treatment notice must be provided to subscribers of fully insured medical policies in New Jersey – new or renewing – as of Jan. 1.
- For Oxford plans, the notices are being distributed with 2019 Oxford plan documents.
- For UnitedHealthcare plans, notices are scheduled to be distributed with plan documents beginning in May.
Once included with plan documents, members will be able to view the notice online with their Certificate of Coverage (COC) and other plan documents or call the number on their ID card to have their plan documents mailed to them.
Notices will be mailed to impacted subscribers of groups whose plan documents were sent prior to the notices being included. The first mailing will be distributed in mid-April and only includes UnitedHealthcare plan members. The second mailing will be distributed after e-fulfillment is live. (This article will be updated to reflect timing of the second mailing.)
The notice(s) will be mailed in mid-April to new and renewing medical plan subscribers as of Jan. 1, 2019.
