Tips and suggestions to help Maryland Policy Holders plan for potential mail delays

The Maryland Insurance Administration is aware that mail delivery delays have resulted in the cancellation or non-renewal of insurance policies due to non-payment of premiums. In some cases, bills or payments are not arriving on time due to mail delays.

Maryland issued this Consumer Advisory to alert policy holders that premium payments sent via United States Postal Service may be delayed, resulting in late payments and possible lapses in coverage. The notice also provides recommendations for protecting against mail delays, such as using electronic payment options, if available.
