BMI: Are you in a healthy range?

BMI is an estimate of how much body fat you have — it’s based on your height and weight. Here’s why it matters: According to health experts, a high BMI can raise your risk of serious health problems.* That includes:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Certain types of cancer
  • Arthritis
  • Sleep apnea

Note: This calculator is intended for adults age 20 and older. BMI results are interpreted differently for children and teens.
