If you’ve been diagnosed with a new health problem, here are a few sample questions you might ask your doctor to better understand your diagnosis and treatment options.

❏  Will I need additional tests? If so, what kind and when?

❏  What are my treatment options?

❏  What are the pros and cons of each option?

❏  Now that I have a diagnosis, do I need to change my habits in any way?

❏  Are there support groups or community services that may help me?

❏  Where can I find reliable information about my condition?  

❏  Would a second opinion be helpful in my situation?
