To visit with a doctor, anytime, day or night, by phone or video, access Virtual Visits. A Virtual Visits doctor can answer your questions about the virus, evaluate your risk and provide advice and support, but Virtual Visits cannot be used to test for or treat the virus. Where necessary, the Virtual Visits provider may refer you to be seen by your own provider or specialist.

Virtual Visits are good for:
- Bladder / urinary tract infection
- Migraine / headache
- Seasonal flu
- Sinus problem
- Sore throat
- And much more
Choose other care for:
- Testing and treating COVID-19
- Anything that needs a hands-on exam
- Anything that needs a lab test or x-ray
- Cancer or other complicated conditions
- Chronic conditions
- International visits
- Sprains / broken bones or injuries requiring bandaging
If you are experiencing a medical emergency you should seek appropriate emergency medical assistance such as calling "911."
With most UnitedHealthcare plans, you have benefit coverage for Virtual Visits when:
- You use one of the provider groups in the Virtual Visits network.
- You’re getting care for certain non-emergency medical conditions like the flu, colds, pinkeye, rashes and fevers. Some plans also include coverage for mental health Virtual Visits. See question 6 for additional details.
If you are a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage member, please check your plan materials or call the customer service number on the back of your member ID card to confirm coverage.
Here’s how Virtual Visits work and the steps you’ll need to take.
- Complete a brief medical history anytime at myuhc.com/virtualvisits.
- Request a visit when you are sick.
- Get a diagnosis and advice and guidance on treatment in 20 minutes or less.
- Pay $503 or less with your UnitedHealthcare plan.
You should have your health plan ID card, a credit card or your UnitedHealthcare HSA Debit MasterCard® ready when you complete your brief medical history and whenever you need a visit. It’s also helpful to have your pharmacy name and address available in case you need medication.
In general, a parent or legal guardian must be present during the Virtual Visit with a minor dependent who is covered under your plan.
When you use one of the provider groups in our Virtual Visits network for a mental health visit, it may be covered if you have UnitedHealthcare mental health benefits. Check your plan documents for more information about your plan’s specific benefits. In addition, if you have Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits, please contact your EAP provider for coverage and network related questions.
