Important notice regarding health plan eligibility

In accordance with Virginia state law (HB1958 Article 6 38.2-3438-3446), the following notice is required to be provided to health plan enrollees during the open enrollment period.

As part of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (more commonly known as Health Care Reform) employees and dependents under age 19 cannot be denied coverage because of a pre-existing medical condition.

Individuals previously excluded from plan coverage due to pre-existing conditions should be aware that pre-existing condition exclusions can no longer be applied to persons under the age of 19 (employees or their dependents). These individuals may now have an opportunity to enroll for benefit coverage during the plan's next open enrollment period as long as they meet other plan eligibility requirements.

Please contact your employer's benefit representative for plan details and open enrollment opportunities. For questions regarding benefit coverage, call the member phone number listed on your health plan ID card.
