Dr. Lee delivers community health care with data-led support from UnitedHealthcare

From the time he was six years old, Dr. Kenyatta Lee knew he wanted to be a doctor. He enjoyed science, and as he grew older, Dr. Lee wanted to apply his love for biology and physiology to make a difference in people’s lives.

Today, Dr. Lee practices family medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, where he and his wife LaQuita opened Pareto Clinic in 2020. Their two clinics are located in Jacksonville’s urban core, an area with some of the highest rates of diabetes, hypertension, COPD and HIV. UnitedHealthcare has been a partner from the start, as one of the first companies to credential their business to see patients.

“Both of the clinics had an absence of health care. The patients have multiple chronic conditions, which means that we need to see them more,” explains Ms. Lee. “And so, UnitedHealthcare allows us to do that.”

For Dr. Lee and his wife LaQuita, Pareto Clinic’s mission isn’t just to see patients — it’s about supporting healthier outcomes. “Every day, we come into the clinic with the goal to love on this community,” says Dr. Lee. A key part of providing care to underserved patients is the clinic’s partnership with UnitedHealthcare. Data from UnitedHealthcare helps Pareto Clinic reach out to people in the community and provide quality health care.

Kim Corley, a senior clinical transformation manager for UnitedHealthcare, helps providers like Dr. Lee identify UnitedHealthcare members who are most in need, supports outreach and strengthens clinic workflows. “Being proactive provides preventive care to people who’ve never had it, and they’re healthy and happy,” says Corley.

Pareto Clinic and Dr. Lee can then focus on delivering care like wellness exams, pregnancy care, mammograms, colonoscopies and managing blood pressure. Dr. Lee reflects, “What I love about family medicine is that it allows you to provide healthcare and resources that affect individuals but also the community.” He adds, “We get to make a difference because of our relationship with UnitedHealthcare. They care about the patients, they care about the people and the providers doing the work.”
