Coverage and confidence for MiMi’s life on the go

As a college senior in southern Georgia, Mimi is always on the move. Her life takes her across the country for volleyball tournaments, road trips, school breaks, and family visits. With such a busy and ever-changing schedule, having access to healthcare was a priority for Mimi’s mom, Nicole.

“When Mimi went away for college, I chose UnitedHealthcare for its nationwide coverage, the affordability and the ability to identify doctors based on ratings. It’s important to me for her to have healthcare that would allow her to be seen in different cities because accidents can happen anywhere,” says Nicole.

That decision proved invaluable during a volleyball tournament in South Carolina when Mimi was hit by a ball and didn’t feel right. She immediately called her mom, who used the UnitedHealthcare member website to quickly find a network provider in the area that had top ratings.

Nicole says, “I felt at ease knowing I was 1,500 miles away and I could still assist her. As a mom, that just gave me total relief.”

The UnitedHealthcare Student Resources plan gave Mimi and Nicole the information they needed to navigate health challenges. “I know she has that coverage she needs to accommodate her lifestyle. I wish I had found this plan earlier,” Nicole says.

Mimi adds, “When I can’t be with my mom, it makes me feel a sense of comfort that I have UnitedHealthcare.”
