5 steps to prepare for 2024 ACA Marketplace open enrollment

There are a few dates to know:

• November 1, 2023 — Open enrollment begins

Start shopping for a health plan, checking prices and exploring coverage options

• December 15, 2023 — Enrollment deadline for coverage starting January 1, 2024
• January 15, 2024 — Enrollment deadline for coverage starting February 1, 2024 (in most states)

If you miss these deadlines, you may be able to enroll in coverage with a qualifying life event.

When you enroll in an ACA Marketplace plan, you’ll be asked some personal and financial questions about your household. You’ll be asked for details like your mailing address, number of members in your household, Social Security number and an estimate of your household income (such as wages, government assistance, pension, retirement account, etc.).
