H-E-B now accepts UCard benefits for eligible UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members in Texas

For many Texans, a trip to H-E-B is part of their weekly routine. Now, eligible UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members can use their UCard® while shopping at H-E-B and participating H-E-B family brands including Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop and Mi Tienda, making it easier to access eligible healthy foods and over-the-counter products at a retailer they know and trust. 

The UnitedHealthcare UCard is a simple and secure benefit card that helps members easily access more of what their plan offers, with balances, covered products, participating retailers and digital card access conveniently managed online. Eligible members can use their UCard to purchase approved items including healthy food like fruits, vegetables and bread, and over-the-counter items like vitamins, allergy and pain relief products, cold and flu medicines, and other everyday health and wellness essentials.

The addition of H-E-B reflects UnitedHealthcare's continued efforts to make benefits easier to use for Texans. By expanding its retail network, UnitedHealthcare is giving eligible members more places to shop for approved items and more flexibility in how they use their benefits. The Store Finder online and in the UnitedHealthcare app makes it easy to locate nearby stores that accept eligible benefits and rewards and learn more about covered offerings. And the product scanner further enhances the in-store experience by allowing members to scan items and instantly see if they can be covered.

H-E-B joins a growing network of retailers that accept UCard. Depending on their plan and benefits, members may also be able to use their UCard at Walmart, Costco, Albertsons, Kroger and additional retail locations nationwide. This wide network is testament to UnitedHealthcare’s commitment to help Texans and Americans live healthier lives.
