UnitedHealthcare supports Special Olympics Flag Football event in TN

Nashville Flag Football Event

UnitedHealthcare served as a presenting sponsor of the Music City Blitz Flag Football Invitational, an inclusive sports event for dozens of Special Olympics flag football teams at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, ahead of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.

The invitational brought together more than 350 Special Olympics flag football athletes, Unified partners, coaches and cheerleaders from nine states for intensive training, team building, competition and NFL-style combine drills. Among the participating teams, several will compete at the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis.

The event not only brought these teams together as a community, but also to celebrate their achievements, and build confidence, belonging, and lifelong friendships. It also provided an incredible opportunity to play in an NFL stadium. Members of the Tennessee Titans coaching staff were also on hand to help with the drills and provide support.

UnitedHealthcare, which is a co-presenting sponsor of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, brought dozens of volunteers to help with the day’s event.

“Being at Nissan Stadium and seeing the athletes’ energy, teamwork and determination up close was unforgettable,” said Ryan Grady, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual Health Plans of the Mid-South. “UnitedHealthcare is honored to support Special Olympics and the incredible work they do every day, building stronger, healthier communities and helping people reach their full potential.”

The Music City Blitz Flag Football Invitational comes in advance of the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, where more than 3,000 inspiring athletes from all 50 states will come together to compete for gold in Minneapolis.
