Our commitment to the North Carolinians and employers we serve

We understand how disruptive it can be for our members if their hospital or physician no longer participates in our network. Our members count on us to provide them with access to care that is not only high quality but also affordable. That is why we are working diligently to reach an agreement with WakeMed.

We remain committed to working with WakeMed and are hopeful we can reach a resolution that restores network access to the health system. But we also want to reassure our members they continue to have access to a robust network of care providers that includes nearly 20 hospitals in the greater Triangle area, as well as approximately 12,500 physicians and care providers and 176 outpatient locations such as ambulatory surgical centers and urgent care centers.

Nearly 1,000 physicians in Wake County and the surrounding area are readily accepting new UnitedHealthcare members

We have received confirmation from UNC Health that all of its physician practices throughout Wake County are accepting new UnitedHealthcare members and are readily able to meet our members’ health care needs.

Additionally, the majority of WakeMed Key Community Care (WKCC) physicians are accepting new patients.

Avance Care, Cary Pediatric Center and Western Wake Pediatrics have also confirmed they’re accepting new UnitedHealthcare members.

In total, nearly 1,000 physicians in Wake County and the surrounding area are ready and able to provide care to UnitedHealthcare members. View a comprehensive list of physician practices accepting new patients .

Please note that we are working with other physician practices in the Raleigh market that are ready and able to provide care to UnitedHealthcare members. We will continue to update this list over the coming days with additional physician practices that are accepting people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare health plans.
