Medicare Advantage Plans with Veterans in Mind

Choose a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan that serves those who served

You made a commitment to our country. You deserve a Medicare plan that's committed to you. UnitedHealthcare® has a wide range of Medicare Advantage plans designed to complement the health benefits you already receive for your service.

UnitedHealthcare and The American Legion have formed an alliance to provide veterans access to critical social programs and assistance that help improve their overall health and well-being.

Additional Services for Veterans

Once a UnitedHealthcare member, veterans will also have access to a concierge service to assist in accessing over 10,000 nationwide veteran-focused social and governmental service organizations—with services including transportation, food and utility assistance.

Your Coverage, Your Choices

The plan that might be a good fit for you depends on the type of coverage you have from your service. These plans are open to both veterans and non-veterans.

I have TRICARE for Life

Which plan may be a good fit for me?

Military retirees with TRICARE For Life coverage may consider the AARP Medicare Advantage Patriot Plan. This plan provides the freedom to visit doctors and hospitals in our network for a $0 monthly premium and additional benefits that may include:

  • Monthly reduction applied to your Medicare Part B premium
  • $0 copays on preventive and comprehensive dental from Medicare Advantage's largest dental network1
  • Free yearly eye exams, free designer frames, and free prescription lenses2
  • $0 routine hearing exam, plus savings on thousands of brand-name hearing aids3
  • Free gym membership and access to Medicare Advantage's largest gym network4
  • Credits to buy over-the-counter products like pain management, cold remedies and vitamins in-store or online for home delivery

Do these plans have drug coverage?

No. These plans do not include prescription drug coverage, so you’ll want to keep your TRICARE For Life member prescription drug coverage.

I have VA Benefits

Which plan may be a good fit for me?

Veterans receiving VA health benefits may consider a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage. These plans offer most of the same benefits as the Medicare Advantage Patriot Plan and give you access to care and services your VA benefits may not cover.

Do these plans have drug coverage?

Yes. Most Medicare Advantage plans offered by UnitedHealthcare include prescription drug coverage.

If you have both Medicare and Medicaid, you may be eligible for a Dual Special Needs Plan.
