Working to help improve employee health and well-being

With the aim of boosting employee health and well-being, UnitedHealthcare is making certain products available to employers starting Jan. 1, 2024.

One in 3 employees surveyed said they would forgo a pay increase in return for additional well-being offerings for themselves or their families.1

Employers are responding to employees’ rising demand for more well-being benefits. Offering healthy living programs may benefit individual employees, but they also may benefit an employer’s overall workforce: Studies show that healthier employees are often more productive.2

With the aim of boosting employee health and well-being, which in turn may lead to better health outcomes for employees and lower costs for employers, UnitedHealthcare is launching 2 products: UnitedHealthcare Rewards (UHC Rewards) and One Pass SelectTM.

Starting Jan. 1, 2024, UHC Rewards, a digital experience where employees can earn dollars for reaching program goals and completing one-time activities, will be available to self-funded Key Accounts. UHC Rewards may be a means to help transform employee health and well-being since participants are able to personalize their experience by selecting activities that may be right for them.

Also starting Jan. 1, 2024, One Pass Select, a nationwide subscription-based fitness and well-being program that may help support a healthier lifestyle, will be available to most customers.

One Pass Select offers employees:

  • Lower-cost gym options with no long-term contracts or annual gym registration fees. On average, employees may see 20% retail gym membership savings with One Pass Select.3
  • Flexible choices and multi-location fitness access to a network of more than 16,000 gyms and boutique studios nationwide. And for self-funded customers, access to thousands of digital classes and a grocery delivery subscription.
  • An online experience to enroll, browse participating gyms, view a personalized dashboard and more.

For employers with self-funded plans, One Pass Select is available to all customers with an implementation fee, but employers also have the option of subsidizing employee costs if they choose. For employers with fully insured and level funded plans, there is no additional cost — the One Pass Select program is embedded as part of UHC Rewards.

This program is accessible to eligible employees digitally, via the One Pass Select website for self-funded plans and through UHC Rewards on the UnitedHealthcare app or myuhc.com® for fully insured and level funded plans.
