- Products and services
Beginning Jan. 1, 2021, the UnitedHealthcare Motion® program will include a new participation goal and prepaid debit card option, as well as updated intensity and frequency goals. The prepaid debit card and frequency goal changes are available upon renewal dates.
The Motion program is designed to help encourage members to get and stay active by promoting regular exercise and rewarding participants if they meet their frequency, intensity and tenacity (FIT) goals.
Enhanced features of Motion will include:
- Participation goal: Members may earn $0.25 each day they log 2,500 steps or more but do not achieve any FIT goals.
- Prepaid debit card: Health savings account (HSA) members (employee or spouse) can choose to receive incentives via HSA deposit or a prepaid debit card during Motion registration. This is a change from HSA deposit only.
- Intensity goal: Members may be rewarded for additional physical activity besides walking. The intensity goal is changing from 3,000 steps in 30 minutes to 3,000 steps in 30 minutes or 30 minutes performing other eligible activities.
- Frequency goal*: The frequency goal is changing from 500 steps in seven minutes, six times per day to 300 steps in five minutes, six times per day.
These enhancements are designed to help drive member engagement and increase value and effectiveness to customers.
