What Is a Qualifying Life Event?

One of the things you can count on in life is change. When those changes come, they might open the door for you to qualify to sign up for health insurance outside the annual open enrollment period. Here’s what you need to know:

Sign Up Within 60 Days

Usually, you’ll need to make changes within 60-days of your qualifying life event. . If you miss this deadline, you may have to wait until the next open enrollment – and that could be up to 10 months away.

Short Term Medical plans are medically underwritten and do not provide coverage for preexisting conditions or meet the mandated coverage necessary to avoid tax penalty under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Expiration or termination of a Short Term Medical℠ plan does not trigger an ACA Special Enrollment opportunity.
